This beautiful red mushroom stops coughing and arrests wheezing.  Need we say more about its implications for asthma?  We have gotten a number of patients off their inhalers using reishi as the star in their custom blended formula, including Julie, patient #1 in part one of this series.

We love this rhizome! It effectively dissolves profuse mucus, resolves cough and shortness of breath, deals with copious yellow mucus (ok, there is no pretty way to say that but if you are a practitioner or a suffering patient, that is a glorious thing!), and much more. Probably more than 50% of our patients will receive this herb in their formula and it will help them.

These are a few samples from what is actually a much broader herbal pharmacy.  There are hundreds of such herbs that we use in our pharmacy, selecting the right blend at the right time and place for the right person to help him or her get better.   We rarely prescribe one herb for one problem.

So you can see how heroes in the health care effort come in many shapes and forms.  Some are your Lotus folks who are human; while others have roots, stems, leaves and flowers and formerly grew on the planet.  Think about that next time you go for a walk in the woods, fields and river banks (and it’s about time, isn’t it?)  The natural flora and fauna you walk amidst have hidden, secret miracles.  With the capability to help someone like you….
